Executed for Gathering Sticks on the Sabbath

A man is found gathering firewood on the Sabbath. He is arrested and brought to Moses, Aaron, and the community. No one knows what to do with him — so they ask God. God's answer: "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." They stone him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.
