Balaam's Talking Donkey
An angel with a drawn sword blocks the road, invisible to the prophet but seen by his donkey. The donkey stops, turns aside, and crushes Balaam's foot against a wall — absorbing three beatings — until God opens the animal's mouth and it rebukes its master. Only then does Balaam see the angel who would have killed him.
