Judges 3:15–30

Ehud Drives a Dagger into the Fat King

Ehud, a left-handed man, hides an 18-inch dagger under his clothes and gains a private audience with Eglon — the very fat king of Moab. "I have a message from God for you," he says — then drives the dagger into Eglon's belly. The fat closes over the blade; his bowels discharge. Ehud locks the door and escapes. When the servants find the locked door, they wait, embarrassed — assuming the king is using the toilet. They finally unlock it and find him dead on the floor.
