God Lets Satan Cover Job in Boils

Having failed to break Job with catastrophe, Satan returns to God's court: "Skin for skin — a man will give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face." God agrees. Satan strikes Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head. Job sits among the ashes, scraping himself with a piece of broken pottery. His wife says: "Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die."
