Job 38:1–41
God's Answer from the Whirlwind
After Job demands an answer, God speaks from a whirlwind — not with comfort or explanation, but with a barrage of unanswerable questions: "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Can you bind the Pleiades? Have you entered the storehouses of snow? Does the eagle soar at your command?" Forty chapters of human suffering meet forty-two verses of divine power display. God never explains why Job suffered. Job replies: "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you."
