Ezekiel Sees the Wheel Within a Wheel
A storm cloud approaches from the north, flashing with lightning. Out of it come four living creatures with four faces — human, lion, ox, eagle — each with four wings. Beside each creature is a gleaming wheel intersecting another wheel at right angles, covered entirely with eyes. The creatures move without turning; the wheels follow wherever the spirit goes. Above their heads, a crystal vault. Above the vault, a throne of lapis lazuli. Above the throne, a figure of blazing fire in human form. Ezekiel falls facedown. This is 'the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.'

Now in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
