2 Kings 19:35–37
An Angel Kills 185,000 Assyrian Soldiers in a Single Night
Sennacherib's army has surrounded Jerusalem. His field commander has stood outside the walls and taunted its defenders in Hebrew, mocking their God to their faces. King Hezekiah spreads the Assyrian's threatening letter before the Lord in the temple and prays. That night, the angel of the Lord goes out and strikes 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. In the morning they are all corpses. Sennacherib breaks camp, returns to Nineveh, and is later assassinated by his own sons while worshipping his god.
