God's Glory Fills the Temple So Completely the Priests Cannot Stand
At the dedication of Solomon's temple, the Levitical musicians and singers stand on the east side of the altar — 120 priests with trumpets — and lift their voices together in perfect unison: 'He is good; his love endures forever.' At that moment a cloud fills the house of God. The priests cannot continue their service because of the cloud. The glory of the Lord fills the temple. Then fire comes down from heaven and consumes the burnt offerings. The people prostrate themselves on the pavement, their faces to the ground, worshipping and praising God. They stay there until evening.

Thus all the work that Solomon did for Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of God’s house.
